Privacy Policy

Cyclotron for iPhone · Last updated 19 August 2026

Cyclotron does not collect any data. It has no account system, no analytics, no advertising, no third-party SDKs, and no networking code of its own. Nothing you do in the app is transmitted anywhere.

What the app accesses

Location

Cyclotron reads your location to measure speed, distance, elevation and the route of a ride. With “Always” permission it continues doing so while the phone is locked, which is what allows a ride to be recorded door to door. Location data is written to the ride stored on your device and is used for nothing else. It is never sent off the device.

Motion and fitness

Cyclotron reads the motion coprocessor so your speed appears the moment you start moving and stays accurate where GPS is weak. These readings are used only to compute the live speed estimate. They are not stored beyond the current ride and are never sent off the device.

App settings

Your preferences — units, appearance and auto-pause — are stored locally in the app's own settings. They contain no personal information.

What is stored, and where

Finished rides are saved in a database inside the app's own storage on your iPhone. Each ride holds its route, timings, speeds and elevation gain. This storage is private to the app and is not readable by other apps.

Because rides live on the device, they are included in your iPhone backups. If those backups go to iCloud, they are covered by Apple's privacy policy and encryption rather than by anything Cyclotron does. Deleting the app deletes its rides with it.

What is not done

Cyclotron does not create accounts, does not require sign-in, does not track you across apps or websites, does not show advertising, does not use analytics or crash reporting services, and does not share, sell or transmit your data to anyone. There is no server operated by the developer, because the app never contacts one.

Maps are drawn using Apple's MapKit framework, which fetches map tiles from Apple in order to display them. That is map imagery being retrieved for display; your ride data is not sent as part of it. Apple's handling of map requests is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.

Your control

You can revoke location or motion access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security. The app will keep running with reduced accuracy or stop measuring, depending on what you revoke. You can delete individual rides in History, or remove everything by deleting the app.

Children

Cyclotron is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new date above. Since the app collects nothing, material changes are unlikely.
